Unlike consumer solutions, Cryptobox does not store any passwords. To address the problem of forgetting the password, Ercom has patented a solution that allows any user to declare a trusted person to recover access to his account and generate a new password (The Trustee).
Just like access to a vault, two keys are simultaneously needed to access content: the user key and the server key where the data is stored.
Regardless of the device used – smartphone, computer or web browser – before being transmitted, the data is encrypted using robust algorithms. In addition, the communication channel between the devices and the server is encrypted by Cryprtobox and another protection layer by TLS.
Except for authorized users, no one can access your data, whether it is the service administrator, the solution provider or a hacker. Different roles can be assigned to users of a workspace to better control access to the data that is exchanged (owner, member or reader).
